Chipotle has always stood out in my mind as a standup brand looking to make a real difference. Back in August of 2011 Chipotle posted this commercial: "back to the start" all about steering away from big slaughter houses and corporate production.
Well, Chipotle is at it again and better than before! In this new hauntingly beautiful commercial Chipotle has taken it a step further, not only are they going back to the start but they are creating a brand around The Scarecrow - Fast Food with a Brain!!
What’s more? This campaign goes beyond an ad, they have created a gaming experience so the youth will grow up educated about fresh farming with natural ingredients.
Chipotle also announced plans to become the first US restaurant chain to strip its menu of all genetically engineered ingredients.
I dare you not to get the chills from watching this…
Humboldt State University has formed an academic institute devoted to marijuana:
"If anyone is going to have a marijuana institute, it really should be Humboldt State," economist Erick Eschker, the institute’s co-chair, told the newspaper. Eschker is studying the connection between marijuana production and employment in the county.

Apple is building a new campus to be covered in solar panels with room for 13,000 people and 6,000 trees! Based in Cupertino, California this campus hopes to be one of Steve Jobs’ legacies.
The grounds were once home to HP, and before that an apricot orchard (would have been even more appropriate had it been an apple orchard!). For this reason, Jobs required the campus to be 80% natural.
“I want to leave a signature campus that expresses the values of the company for generations.” – Steve Jobs
Tara Logsdon takes the used and abused stuffed-bear population and gives them a whole new life. There’s more… Not only does Tara repair the bear, but puts them on a mission:
These adoptees have all been trained to be soldiers in the EKL bearmy. Once they re-enter the world it is their mission to combat mass production and consumption and bring awareness to the desertion of living and inanimate things. It is the bearmy’s belief that we as people must slow down and become more deliberate with our creation and consumption to decrease the amount of abandonment in the world.
All-in-all Tara’s created a green, clean, bearmy machine!
Solé was started by two best college friends at USC who fell in love with the idea of simple, single speed and fixed-gear bicycles. They decided to take it upon themselves to create these bikes at an affordable price, and with a sleek and straight-forward design aesthetic. It’s an added bonus that commuting via cycle keeps both the body and the environment healthy and clean.
In preparation for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro a project is underway to create the Solar City Tower, an artificial waterfall designed to generate clean, renewable energy. The tower is a 345 foot structure with solar panels at the base to store energy during the day to be released at night. Aside from the sustainable aspect of the structure, it will also feature elevators to get a 360 view from the top, an amphitheater, and stores. For the adventure seeker, there will also be bungee jumping. Sweeeeeet.
